Dental Veneers

Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you. A warm inviting smile can affect how people treat you and consequently how you feel about yourself. Having a great smile can improve your personal relationships and conversations. One way to get a perfect smile is Dental Veneers.

What are tooth veneers?

A dental veneer looks like the front of a perfect tooth that is bonded to the front of your real teeth. It is the only way to have a perfect smile without removing your existing teeth. Most veneers are made of porcelain because of its pearlescent color, look and feel that is similar to real teeth.

How can dental veneers improve my smile?

Most people do not have straight, white teeth. Your teeth will grow in at angles that are not perfect and years of use will yellow the average tooth. With regular brushing, flossing and mouth wash teeth can yellow. Even tooth whitening systems only guarantee whiter teeth, not perfectly white teeth. Dental veneers can fix this.

Porcelain veneers are placed on the front of your teeth. They can be shaped and aligned in such a way that they both fit perfectly in your mouth and look straight. They can fill gaps, make crooked teeth look straight and, as always, they are a lovely pearly white.

Dental Veneer Procedure

will meet with you to discuss the process for your particular dental veneer procedure. He will cover how many veneers you want, if you want them to match surrounding teeth, etc. Since the procedure will take a few visits, our staff will help plan your visits.

Preparation & Impressions

Your teeth are prepared by a thorough cleaning followed by a special chemical to prepare the surface to accept the dental adhesive. Then an impression is taken of the teeth and will then place temporary covers on the teeth. The impression will then be sent to a dental lab where they will manufacture the veneers to fit on your teeth.

Attach the Dental Veneers

When the veneers are ready the dentist will remove the temporary covers, clean the teeth and prepare them for the new veneers. An adhesive is then applied to the teeth and the porcelain veneers are attached and properly aligned.

Your next visit will probably be a regular checkup for all your teeth. While there the dentist will also admire your dental veneers.

Exploring the Benefits of Xylitol
Xylitol is a natural sweetener that can be found in fruits like plums and raspberries, and it looks just like sugar. It contains considerably fewer calories than sugar, and it is a better option than chemically-engineered sweeteners like aspartame or Splenda. Xylitol is often considered to be a sugar-free sweetener, and it is used in many chewing gums.

Xylitol can benefit your oral health in a variety of ways. First, it fights cavities by disrupting the bacteria that cause decay. It will actually stop them from producing acid that will eat away at the teeth while reducing plaque. Additionally, Xylitol stimulates the production of saliva, which is the natural way that your body protects your mouth.
